Improving infant mortality represents a fundamental desire that is shared by all Washingtonians: living in a state where all babies have a healthy start and an equal opportunity to celebrate their first birthday. This report presents the Washington State Department of Health's infant mortality prevention recommendations. Working together with the Perinatal and Adolescent Health Program Manager in the Office of Family and Community Health Improvement, this report was designed with a tone sensitive to the delicate subject matter while presenting the serious information in a hopeful way through large, engaging photos and modern charts and graphs.
